Sandblasting TL (derived from the initial Company named Metacom) is a group of companies with full private capital, structured in two main divisions:

The anticorrosion protection division has been established in 1995 and started with repair jobs at Black Sea shipyards. Now is the biggest Company in Romania, having gained Contracts with its business partners: Damen Shipyards Galati, Aker Shipyards Tulcea, Daewoo Shipyard Mangalia, Damen Shipyards Ukraine.

The steel building division has been established in 1997 and woks in Romanian shipyards, in Italy and the Ukraine.

As secondary activities Sandblasting can also offer electrical and carpentry services. Electrical operations include: cable traces installation and secondary steel work foundations, cable pooling, cable connections and cold wire check.

The Company is structured in a way that provides a complete service - the management of entire vessel depending on shipyard organization, painting specification, drafting and a quality control service, accompanied by quality Certificates.

The anti corrosion protection process includes a full technological operation which can be described as:

• Working procedure elaboration
• Scaffolding assembly
• Steel work quality inspection
• Cosmetic steel work as per Contract request
• Surface decontamination
• Surface preparation as per most known Standards: ISO 8501/1988, SSPC-SP, SPSS-Japan 1975.
• Painting system application in a controlled environment

Sandblasting TL works with all big paint suppliers, including International Paint (Akzo Nobel), PPG, Jotun and Hempel. The Company has expertise in application of the most advanced type of paints, such as phenolic epoxies, two component glass flake reinforced paints, ethyl silicate coatings and other common paints and tank linings. All steps are assisted by inspection carried out by paint inspectors and Client representatives.

Both divisions of Sandblasting TL are prepared to work on all the type of vessels, from chemical tankers, oil tankers, container and general cargo vessels, car carriers and heavy load vessels, to tugs, fishing and supply vessels.
